(along side Leon Russell) and back to Memphis to work with Freddie King, Furry Lewis, John Mayall, Lonnie Mack, Albert King, The Staple Singers, and many others. This Saturday, Pat welcomes Jesse Wagner of The Aggrolites and frequent guest, Vic Ruggiero back to debut a special live set of music featuring the songs of their recently released collaboration: "Reggae Workers of the World." Don't be tricked by the name, this album features much more than one genre. The two singers share an unequivocal reverence for reggae, rhythm n‘ blues and rock n‘ roll classics.

The Deafening Colors
Monday, January 25th, 9am - Noon
on Surface Noise with Joe McGasko

Local four-piece The Deafening Colors recently released their second album, Carousel Season, an album that brims over with beautiful and poignant pop music. Today the band plays a special live session on Surface Noise.

Imperial Trumpet
Wednesday, January 27th, Midnight - 3am
on
Wm. Berger presents My Castle of Quiet
WFMU's My Castle of Quiet presents our first live-music event of 2016. For many of you, this will be the first time hearing this USBM supergroup of sorts, featuring members of Yellow Eyes and Vorde, both of those bands having graced us with live sets in the past. Imperial Trumpet sound not quite like either of those related projects, though—with their own signal—a special, candlelit dirge, a trudge through ever-primitive times, with excellent song composition and a forceful presentation all their own.

Eddi Front
Wednesday, January 27th, 3pm - 6pm
on Irwin Chusid

Eddi Front is the solo project of Brooklyn-based, Las Vegas-born artist Ivana Carrescia, who will perform live on Irwin's program on January 27. Eddi's debut album, “Marina," is set for release on March 4th. The album, produced by Dan Chen, was recorded in Brooklyn, and follows Front’s sultry 2012 self-titled debut EP. Eddi first performed on Irwin's program in 2012 under the name "Ivana XL."

Robyn Hitchcock
Saturday, January 30th, 3pm - 6pm
on
Todd-o-phonic Todd's show
Robyn Hitchcock stops by The Todd-O-Phonic Todd show for a live performance and some chit chat. From The Soft Boys through his present day solo career, Robyn his never been short on whimsy and excellent songwriting and this visit should display plenty of both. Catch Mr. Hitchcock later that evening at The South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC).

Joe Frank - "Love Is"
Wednesday, February 3rd, 3pm - 6pm
on
Irwin Chusid
One-hour dramas by Joe Frank air alternate Wednesdays at 4pm (Eastern) on Irwin's program. An episode entitled "Love Is," from Joe's The Other Side series, airs Weds. February 3rd. At an airport, a man has a strange encounter with an old woman who insults him, then passes out and dies in front of him. He sees his wife waiting in an arrival lounge to meet another man. Told that he has terminal cancer, he’s offered a highly unorthodox, experimental treatment that involves meeting a surgeon dressed as Santa Claus. Viewing a photograph that reveals his contempt for his son, he feels he deserves nothing less than death. Then things take a turn for the worse.

Daddy Long Legs
Saturday, February 6th, 3pm - 6pm
on
Todd-o-phonic Todd's show
The most blues-wailing Daddy Long Legs join Todd-O-Phonic Todd to destroy Saturday afternoon. Find out why these Norton recording artists are the toasts of both Europe and Bushwick! The closest thing we will ever see to a cross between Slim Harpo and Harpo Marx.

Girls On Grass
Monday, February 8th, Noon - 3pm
on Three Chord Monte with Joe Belock

Roots-cowpunk-country outta New York City. Girls on Grass was formed by singer-guitarist Barbara Endes (ex-Elk City, the Lovelies) and drummer Nancy Polstein (the Silos, Cheri Knight). The Girls woodshedded throughout 2014, recruiting bassist Dave Mandl (of WFMU's Hoof and Mouth Sinfonia) and lead guitarist Sean (Luna, Elk City) before heading into the studio to capture the initial burst of songwriting. The result is an amazing self-titled debut album. Find out what all the fuss is about with what is sure to be an incendiary live session!

Freakwater
Monday, February 22nd, Noon - 3pm
on Three Chord Monte with Joe Belock

Freakwater's Janet Bean and Catherine Irwin first put their distinctive harmonies to tape under a swinging Kentucky country ham in Janet's parent's basement in 1985. Over three decades and eight infrequently released albums, Catherine and Janet's unflinching lyrics and compelling vocal harmonies can stab you in the heart from a mile away. Freakwater continues its tradition of defying classifications on the new album, Scheherazade, coming February 5th.

Patrick Stickles of Titus Andronicus
Saturday, February 27th, 3pm - 6pm
on
Todd-o-phonic Todd's show
Todd-O-Phonic Todd welcomes noted performer and philosopher Patrick Stickles of the highly acclaimed band Titus Andronicus. Patrick will be playing some of his songs live and doing some DJing and chatting as well. Get ready for lots of Jersey Talk! Be sure and catch Titus on tour, starting with Webster Hall on Feb. 29th.

Jam Messengers
Monday, February 29th, Noon - 3pm
on Three Chord Monte with Joe Belock

Time to kick out the Jams! Rob K (Workdogs, Gibson Brothers) and Uncle Butcher (Thee Butcher's Orchestra) make their long-awaited return to WFMU delivering their unique brand of trash blues-silky soul rock 'n roll.
