Be sure to tell us your pet’s name in the pledge comments, and upload a photo of your pet here. Don’t miss out on the new swag, including our Typographic Critters T-shirt and Malevolent Bunny T-shirt (DJ Premiums and Prize Warehouse items up for grabs as well)!

on
Surface Noise with Joe McGasko
Last month, Philadelphia harpist Mary Lattimore played a heavenly concert at WFMU's performance space Monty Hall. Performing solo with only her harp and an effects unit, she created whole new worlds of gorgeous sound. Hear her set in its entirety on today's Surface Noise.

Elliott McPherson of the Dexateens
Monday, November 7th, Noon - 3pm
on Three Chord Monte with Joe Belock

Hallelujah! The Dexateens, the finest purveyors of southern rock for the 21st century (yes, they have THREE guitars!) are back with their first full-length album in seven years, "Teenage Hallelujah." Frontman Elliott McPherson checks in to let us know what to expect for the band's upcoming rare trek over the Mason-Dixon Line, which includes the Mercury Lounge in NYC on Nov. 11 and Atwood's in Somerville, Mass. on Nov. 13.

Vyctoria
Wednesday, November 9th, 3am - 6am
on What Was Music? with Marcel M

Vyctoria is the result of a harmonious blend of power and beauty, melody and dissonance, tranquility and noise, made with equal parts fuzzed out riffage and spacey improvisations. Visiting WFMU for the first time while on tour from Mexico City, Vyctoria will be joined by artists Camille Mandoki and Oscar Coyoli for this session.

John Strausbaugh: City of Sedition
Wednesday, November 9th, 3pm - 6pm
on
Irwin Chusid
Journalist/historian John Strausbaugh returns to Irwin's program on Wednesday November 9 to discuss his new book, "City of Sedition: The History of New York City During the Civil War" (published by Twelve Books). The work chronicles the localized conflicts between New York constituent groups and how their respective actions helped or hampered President Lincoln's war effort. No city raised more men, money, and materiel for the war, and no city raised more hell against it. New York was a city of patriots, war heroes, and abolitionists, but also a city of antiwar protest, draft resistance, and sedition. Strausbaugh is a foremost authority on the history of New York City. He is a former editor of New York Press, and has written for the New York Times, the Washington Post, and many other publications. His previous books include "The Village: 400 Years of Beats and Bohemians, Radicals and Rogues," "E: Reflections on the Birth of the Elvis Faith," "Black Like You," and "Sissy Nation."

Sonic Avenues and the Steve Adamyk Band
Wednesday, November 9th, 9pm - Midnight
on
The Evan "Funk" Davies Show
Get ready for TWO live sets of 1977-inspired punk rock from north of the border! Sonic Avenues are from Montreal - they've just released their fourth LP, and third on the Dirtnap label, Disconnector. They're currently on tour with tonight's other live guests, the Steve Adamyk Band, all the way from Ottawa. Their latest album, Graceland is also on Dirtnap and includes guest appearances from Mike Krol and Colleen Green -- as well as members of Sonic Avenues.

They're wrapping up their joint tour with shows at Cake Shop in NYC on Nov. 4 and Mr. Beery's on Long Island on Nov. 5, but if you miss them you can hear Sonic Avenues and the Steve Adamyk Band live on the Evan "Funk" Davies show Wednesday night, November 9, at 9pm on WFMU.

Amy Rigby
Saturday, November 12th, 11am - 1pm
on Michael Shelley's show

Amy Rigby drops by to play a few songs & to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of her debut masterpiece "Diary Of A Mod Housewife" and it's recent vinyl debut. She's on tour now, with a stops at NYC's HiFi Bar November 16 & 17th.

Straight Arrows PLUS Daniel Romano
Saturday, November 12th, 3pm - 6pm
on
Todd-o-phonic Todd's show
Sydney quartet Straight Arrows kick out the jams on The Todd-O-Phonic Todd show. Maybe the best Aussie combo since The Missing Links! Don't miss them on tour with Thee Oh Sees.

A favorite of The Todd-O-Phonic Todd show and its listeners, Daniel Romano will be performing live. Whereas on last year’s If I’ve Only One Time Askin’ – his acclaimed 2015 album which made several year-end lists from Exclaim! to Rolling Stone and earned him a Juno Award nomination for Adult Alternative Album of the Year – Romano explored the countrypolitan sound of the late, great Billy Sherrill, pairing honky-tonk heartache and mid-century melodrama with lush orchestration to startling effect, on Mosey he employs the use of a much larger sonic arsenal. Be sure and catch Daniel at The Mercury Lounge that evening.

Julianna Barwick
Monday, November 14th, 9am - Noon
on
Surface Noise with Joe McGasko
