Michael Welcomes Dennis Diken of The Smithereens 
Saturday, January 5th, 2019, 11am - 1pm 
on Michael Shelley's show 

Dennis Diken drops by the studio to spin some records and talk about the history and the future of The Smithereens. The band formed in Carteret, New Jersey in 1980 and is still going strong despite the passing of lead singer Pat DiNizio in December of 2017. We’ll hear tales of the road, recording in The Capitol Records tower, the making of MTV videos and the band’s upcoming plans.

Fri, Jan 25th – A love letter to the movies, Sickies Making Films looks at our urge to censor films and asks why? Using the Maryland Board of Censors (1916-1981) as a lens, as well as archival materials, classic film segments, and interviews with filmmakers and exhibitors, this documentary examines the recurring problem of censorship in America. 8pm, $12.
