Parsnip
Tuesday, October 1st, 9pm - Midnight
on Burn It Down! with Nate K.

Australian pop quartet Parsnip offer a kinder, gentler, but no less gripping antidote to the current wave of brawny Down Under noisemakers. Embracing the twee stylings of prime Sarah Records along with shots of Farfisa-powered girls-in-the-garage swing, Parsnip's sing-along tunes are lodged-in-the-brain infectious and impossible to deny. Try your best to do so and watch how you fail, when the band, currently in the midst of a US tour, swings by Burn It Down! on Tuesday, October 1.

Designer, artist and activist Josh MacPhee
Thursday, October 3rd, 9am - Noon
on This Is The Modern World with Trouble

Designer, artist and activist Josh MacPhee visits WFMU to talk about his new book An Encyclopedia of Political Record Labels. Josh is a founding member of Interference Archive, a public collection of cultural materials produced by social movements, located in Brooklyn NY. Focusing on vinyl records and the labels that released them, this groundbreaking book traces the parallel rise of social movements in the second half of the 20th century and the vinyl record as the dominant form of music distribution.

Ken Burns plus Debbie Harry
Saturday, October 5th, 3pm - 6pm

Debbie Harry will give her own perspective on her life and career in the new autobiography "Face It" published by Dey Street.
