Hello!

We're back with a collection of all the new music we've been playing over the past month at WFMU!
Browse through and discover a selection of highlights we've spinning this spring.

Also! WFMU is working on the next issue of our Program Guide-slash-Zine, “Lowest Common Denominator,” also known as LCD. Issue 29 is scheduled to be released this summer! If you have art, comics, essays or anything else you would like to submit for our next issue, please send them our way. We are accepting both physical and digital submissions. The theme of the issue is freeform – which means no theme. The deadline for all material is May 12th. For more info visit wfmu.org/lcd.

I'd love to hear from ya! Feel free to get in touch. Enjoy!

Live music triple-header with Tuff Sunshine, Jean Caffeine, and Thyroids!
Wednesday, May 14th, Noon - 3pm
on The Evan "Funk" Davies Show

Tuff Sunshine is, in the studio at least, musician and songwriter Johnny Leitera. For this return to WFMU (following an appearance on Three Chord Monte in 2017) a full band will be on hand to perform Leitera’s hazy pop-psych tunes, including some from their new album Vanity Matrix (Declared Goods).⁣
⁣ Plus: Austin musician Jean Caffeine put out a punk zine in San Francisco in 1977, played with the all-woman no-wave collective Pulsallama in the early ‘80s, and had a cameo in Richard Linklater’s Slacker in 1991. In recent years she’s been releasing music that wryly twists punk, indie, folk, and more. She’ll play a live set backed by Dallas punks Thyroids, who will also play a set of their own. See them both at Pet Shop in Jersey City on Thursday May 15!

on Burn It Down! with Nate K.

Film critic, punk rocker, and all-around good dude Billups Allen returns to the show to discuss his latest book, I Exhibited Films for a Year. I Lost Money, but I Think I Made My Point. An amusing, honest chronicle of the communal cinematic experience in the face of the isolating tyranny of "the stream," Billups's book is an essential manual in the ongoing battle of art for art's sake. Tune in Friday, May 16, to join the fight.
