Jazz keyboardist, composer and arranger Todd Cochran (aka Bayeté) was born and raised in San Francisco’s blossoming bohemia of the 1950s and 1960s. He began playing professionally as a teenager, going on to perform with many notable musicians, such as Bobby Hutcherson, Julian Priester, Mtume, Hadley Caliman, Peter Gabriel and more. Cochran’s discussion of his extensive music career and forthcoming reissue of Caliman’s “Iapetus” (WeWantSounds) is the centerpiece of a three-hour special devoted to his otherworldly, Afro-Futuristic music.

Basya Schechter is the founder and leader of Pharaoh's Daughter, a group rooted in Jewish and Middle Eastern traditions but with a wide range of influences. Pharaoh's Daughter has a great new album coming out on June 12th, Songs of Desire, on John Zorn's Tzadik label, which is based on the biblical Song of Songs. Basya joins us to introduce the album - plus she'll be joined by bandmate Brian Marsella to play a few songs from the album in an exclusive duet performance.

Arvo Zylo returns for a three hour tour of prime experimental music and choice vintage populism from a wide array of bygone eras. Arvo Zylo was a freeform radio DJ at WZRD and WLUW in Chicago for several years, runs his own NO PART OF IT label, and has been creating noise or experimental music since the year 2000.
